Pod Applications
The Pod can be customized to incorporate powerful, fully immersive, ready-to-use interactive sensory software, which combine to deliver impactful experiences for multiple vertical markets.
Pods can incorporate one software experience - or a menu of different experiences
The outer shell imagery can match a specific visual style or branding requirement
Pods can be configured for free usage, or pay-to-use
Experiences can be designed for solo usage, or networked for collaborative or competitive usage (users in different Pods participating real-time in the same experience)
Sensory features can be adapted for customer’s requirements - such as haptic vests, different HMDs, alternate input devices, seating, smell, heat, cold and more
Design Criteria
We design experiences for the unique spatial and sensory capabilities offered by the Pod, as well as the client requirements. This entails consideration of locomotion - how will a user move inside the virtual world, intuitive user experience - how to make user input obvious and easy, also feedback to the user of progress and achievement, and post-experience considerations (such as follow-up emails for next steps based on performance, etc.). Because of the very high immersion and sense of motion, we design carefully to minimize any sense of motion sickness, which is common in poorly designed VR experiences.
Here is how the Pod can have applicability into specific verticals:
Training & Education
Repeatable and scalable learning in a safe environment
When using VR, a user’s brain is highly active, as it takes in a multitude of sights and sounds that it has not seen before or that are not typical on a day-to-day basis. This causes the brain to create memories, and so the foundation for future recall - or learning. To paraphrase Dr. David Eagleman, neuroscientist, how many times have you driven to work and then realized you don’t remember anything about the journey? It’s because your brain knows the routine so well, it doesn’t need to store anything new. Whereas, if you take a different route to work one day, you have great recall - because your brain was learning and discovering something new. VR can create learning opportunities for this very reason — if the software is written correctly. Adding sensory effects on top of VR - which we do in the Pod - creates even more stimuli for the brain as it activates more of your senses, in addition to body movement.
Another benefit is that Sensory VR training is repeatable and scalable. Unlike more traditional in-person training, the Pod can collect powerful data that can help evaluate an individual’s progress, and allow comparison with peers or a control group. Using such data you can quantify the effectiveness of your training and progress against defined outcomes. Such fundamental metrics could include:
Performance — who is training, at what frequency are they training, confidence in task completion, as well as task success and completion rates;
Progress — specific activities performed by a user; task sequencing and completion metrics; decisions and reaction times, engagement, physical movements and activity
Among the types of training that we could create custom sensory Pod experiences for include:
situational first responder simulation (police, fire etc.)
safety scenarios (especially useful to gain experience where a real-world setting could be dangerous or expensive)
manufacturing or repair process (allows trainees to interact and gain experience by interacting with a highly accurate simulated environment)
industrial or military simulations
many more!
As content creators, we are not limited to “only” our own Pod platform — we can design and build such custom solutions for almost any VR platform. Just let us know what you’re looking for.
Museum Installations
Most museums tend to exist in one place in the world, housing remarkable artifacts and exhibits, nearly all of which are static. Custom Pods could be unique installations at a museum, attracting visitors of all ages because they allows visitors to see exhibits come to life.
Better than 360-degree video, a Pod experience allows users to interact with the material, experiencing sensory feedback which brings the exhibit to life as they are immersed inside it.
Example: Imagine a World War II museum — perhaps visitors could sit inside a virtual tank and take it into a simulation of a real battle. Other visitors could also be in other Pods, connected via network, inside the same simulation controlling a tank of their own, or perhaps an aircraft; each witnessing the sounds, the vibrations, and the fog of war, while simultaneously understanding such a conflict in a way not possible with static exhibits.
Better yet, this same experience could be packaged by Spark XR and put into distribution in our retail network – thereby promoting the museum as a destination for a real-world visit, while also creating a revenue generating opportunity away from the museum based on usage via revenue sharing with Spark XR.
Location Based Entertainment

Medical, Clinical, Wellness & Therapy
VR is increasingly being used in healthcare, including:
simulations used to train medical personnel on surgical procedures;
therapeutic applications to help treat an increasing range of mental health issues including PTSD or phobias, with sessions designed to trigger the same psychological and physiological reactions in VR so that the patient can learn and apply them in the real-world;
reducing anxiety and stress by immersing patients with calming sights, sounds and sensations
The Pod can advance conventional VR solutions because of the sensory effects provided, and so increase the immersion and so overall effectiveness.
Virtual Tourism
What if you could travel… without actually traveling?
How cool would it be to experience the sights, the sounds, the feel of somewhere on your bucket list? But maybe you simply don’t have the time? Or the budget? Or perhaps you’re just not sure if you want to spend that money?
This is where the Pod comes into its own. Better than 360-dgree videos, through the Pod we can ‘teleport’ you to interesting destinations, where you can explore and learn.
Real-world locations - of course! But also fantasy worlds. Space, under the Ocean. How about time travel back to medieval Britain? Or to future Los Angeles? We can design, create and deliver these and more for you as turn key end-user experiences utilizing our Sensory Pod.
Of course, we don’t actually teleport anyone anywhere – but because of our high-end delivery mechanism in the Pod, users will believe they really did take that trip! The sensation of motion is incredibly realistic. And users want to go visit there for real afterwards (see what real users say here).
Our first virtual travel experience was created for and in collaboration with our client, Manga Productions, in which you travel to an incredible area of natural and archaeological beauty, and embark of a fun and exciting journey. All you need is 12 minutes. More details here: AlUa Adventures
Exhibitions and Events
The Star Attraction
People LOVE the Pod. It’s a cool shape and it invites people to come over and see what is going on. They all want to step inside and try it. See some amazing reaction form users here.
A Pod that contains your custom branding on the outside, and one or more custom experiences about your brand on the inside will help you stand out at events and generate foot traffic.
Imagine a brand in the extreme sports world — they could take a branded Pod to all of their events, which contains 5-minute branded experiences for consumers to try — maybe BMX tricks, wing-suit flying, moto-cross rally, hang-gliding, etc.
Taking up only a small footprint to operate (around 12 feet square and 10 feet high), a Pod is designed to be portable, easy to assemble and disassemble, and plug-and-play - just hook up to one standard electrical outlet.
Games & Entertainment
Delivering on the fantasy promised by Hollywood
No doubt everyone is familiar with the Star Trek ‘Holodeck’ and the ability to ‘teleport’ to other places or dimensions. Or similar sci-fi/Hollywood promises of a future enhanced by virtual reality, such as ‘Ready Player One’ , ‘Total Recall’ or “Minority Report’. Spark XR is delivering on the fantasy long-promised by Hollywood. Through the Pod - and the custom software we create for it - we ‘teleport’ users to epic destinations of their choosing.
Movies, sports, social, action, dance, fighting, arcade, puzzle, FPS and more - there is almost no gaming genre or subject matter that the Pod can’t bring to life in the most exhilarating way!
Pod games are better than traditional video games because we fully immerse the player, placing them right in the center of the world. They feel the heat from the dragon behind them. They feel the wind and downforce during the vertical take-off. The rumble of the hoverboard beneath their feet, the ‘boom’ from the explosion in their bones!
Imagine going to your local movie theater, where they have a custom Pod experience allowing you to go into that world of heroes you just saw in that blockbuster movie — and live it. Or maybe you saw a horror movie instead, and the same Pod lets you feel the shivers and thrills from that in a whole new way.
Better yet, these are real games - meaning they aren’t the same every time you use them, like they would be at a theme park or entertainment center. Built by real game creators, we give you a reason to come back - and you’ll want to! Pod games have difficulty levels and can be mastered over time. You can choose your path. Virtual items can be collected, stored in and traded through your Pod mobile account.
Some games are designed for solo play - it’s just you. Others are networked and can be solved by collaborating with other users in other Pods in the same world as you. Others yet are fully competitive - it’s you against other real players.
We are creating a retail version of the Pod that contains a menu of such experiences - you’ll find these at shopping malls, airport gates, movie theaters, family entertainment centers and more. We’re looking for partners and investors for this exciting project - contact us for more details.
Sports & eSports
COMPETITIVE AND COLLABORATIVE SPORTS SIMULATION
VR offers players a new way to enjoy sports - virtual participation! While real sports take time to prepare, train, travel to, gear-up etc. - in the Pod, you simply step inside and you’re ready to go! Whether you’re an expert athlete or a novice, it’s a level playing field! Locations can be real-world or fantasy!
Imagine…
Skiing down one of the trickiest slopes in the freshest, cool powder, in the perfect skiing conditions. It’s just you and the wildlife out there!
Golfing on the moon!
Feeling that satisfying ‘clunk’ in your hands as you hit a home-run in your favorite baseball ball-park
Gliding through the air, feeling the cool wind in your face
Kicking the winning touchdown in a critical moment of the big football game
The thrill of base jumping from some of the tallest structures on the planet
Mastering a futuristic hoverboard and speeding around your city
Maybe you prefer snowboarding, or surfing, or hang-gliding, or biking. Whatever the sport, however extreme (or not!), we can create an exciting, safe simulation of it
Just like in the real-world, in the Pod, it’s all about how you use your body movement for control. Unlike the real-world, if things go wrong, you simply re-start and try again. Because in the Pod, we can design these experiences to be learnable — you can get better at them over time. We can build skill levels to reflect your specific abilities. But no matter what your level, it will always be enjoyable and safe.
We can also network Pods together, so that you can experience sports with other people. As such, you can have competitions and tournaments. We can also design the sports to be collaborative, so you can work as a team.
